El Aeropuerto de Pohang /Gyeongju se encuentra en la ciudad de Pohang, provincia de Gyeongsangbuk-do. El aeropuerto está a 11,5 km del Ayuntamiento de Pohang y a 5 km de Posco (Pohang Iron and Steel Company), en dirección a Guryongpo.

En junio de 2002, el Aeropuerto de Pohang entró en un proceso de renovación. El aeropuerto ha pasado de ser solo un edificio de oficinas locales del gobierno para tener una variedad de excelentes instalaciones y estacionamientos. En febrero de 1970, se creó el aeródromo y en marzo del mismo año, Korean Air comenzó a operar un servicio entre Pohang y Seúl. En abril de 1992, Asiana Airlines abrió una ruta entre Pohang y Seúl. Una ruta de Pohang a Jeju también abrió en octubre de ese año. 

El aeropuerto tiene una capacidad de operación de alrededor de 100.000 despegues de aeronaves y aterrizajes por año. Hasta 1,87 millones de pasajeros nacionales se pueden alojar por año y los estacionamientos del aeropuerto tienen 530 plazas disponibles. En 2022, el aeropuerto cambió su denominación por Aeropuerto de Pohang/Gyeongju.

      When Hwangnam Bread was created in Hwangnam-dong, Gyeongju, in 1939, people began to refer to it as “the bread from Hwangnam.” Over time, the name stuck. The late Choi Yeong-hwa, the founder of Hwangnam Bread, was a scion of the Gyeongju Choi family who came up with this masterpiece when he was 21 years old after much trial and error. Mr. Choi’s creation is based on the tradition of rice cakes and bread made with sweet red beans, passed down throughout the generations in his family. Even today, 80 years after the creation of the bread, it is only flavored with red beans. Another defining feature of Hwangnam Bread is the delicate comb pattern inspired by the aesthetics of the Silla period.
